Established in 1875, Keilor Cricket Club has been a cornerstone of Melbourne’s north-western suburbs for nearly 150 years. Founded by passionate cricket enthusiasts, the club aimed to create a community hub for local sports. Early records highlight the club’s commitment to fostering cricket talent and promoting sportsmanship.

Milestones and Achievements

• 1875: Foundation of Keilor Cricket Club.
• 1985: Celebrated our first major championship victory, marking the beginning of a tradition of excellence.
• 1995: Inauguration of our state-of-the-art clubhouse, providing a new home for players and supporters alike.
• 2005: Launch of a comprehensive junior program to nurture young talent and promote the sport among youth.

Community and Family Legacy

Keilor Cricket Club is more than just a sports team; it’s a family. The Milburn family, for instance, has been integral to the club’s history. Tom Milburn served as captain/coach from the late 1930s through 1968, leading the 1st XI during the club’s most successful period, accumulating 10 premierships between 1947 and 1963. His son, Robert “Patchy” Milburn, contributed significantly off the field, serving multiple terms as treasurer from 1968 to 2009.

Our Home Ground

Located at the Keilor Recreation Reserve on Old Calder Highway, our home ground is more than just a playing field; it’s a community gathering place. In 2013, the oval was officially named the Joe Brown Oval, honoring a valued community volunteer.
