Our Junior Program
Junior Cricket at Keilor – A Pathway from Backyard to Big League!
At Keilor, we’re proud to offer a vibrant and inclusive junior cricket program for kids of all ages and abilities. Whether your child is just starting out or dreaming of playing senior cricket one day, we have a team and pathway to suit.
We cater for both girls-only teams and mixed teams (girls and boys), ensuring everyone has the chance to enjoy the game in a supportive and fun environment.
Getting Started?
Kids as young as 7 years old can jump into the action through our Woolworths Cricket Blast Program – a fantastic way to learn the basics, build confidence, and fall in love with cricket!
From there, we offer teams in the U10, U12, U14, and U16 age groups, with a natural progression into our senior teams, including participation in the U18 Turf Wicket Competition.
When’s the Season?
The junior cricket season usually kicks off in the first week of October (after the September school holidays). There’s a short break over the summer holidays, with the season wrapping up in early to mid-March, depending on finals.
Team Info & Updates
Team structures, age eligibility, and playing times will be confirmed in early to mid-September – and as interest grows, we’re always open to welcoming more players and forming additional teams!
We’ll keep this page updated with the latest information, so be sure to check back regularly.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved, feel free to reach out.

Our Commitment
At Keilor Cricket Club, we are dedicated to ensuring a safe physical and online environment for every child – especially those who may be more vulnerable – and to protecting them from all forms of abuse, grooming, sexual misconduct, or inappropriate behaviour.
Children are at the heart of our club. They have the right to feel safe, be heard, and be empowered to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
To support this, we:
-
Require volunteers to undergo appropriate background checks.
-
Provide online training for anyone interacting with children so they understand their role in maintaining a child-safe environment.
Everyone involved with our club – including coaches, umpires, team managers, captains, junior coordinators, committee members, and parents/guardians – must always follow Australian Cricket’s ‘Looking After Our Kids’ Code of Behaviour.
This means:
-
Ensuring all children feel safe, supported, included, and encouraged.
-
Never engaging in sexual misconduct or inappropriate physical contact.
-
Providing positive guidance and acting within the boundaries of their role.
-
Using respectful, inclusive language – never discriminatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, bi-phobic, or transphobic.
-
Avoiding unsupervised one-on-one situations, including not transporting children without the clear consent of both the club and a parent/guardian.
-
Restricting communication with children to club-related matters only, and never communicating online with a child unless a parent/guardian is included.
-
Never supplying children with alcohol, drugs, or other harmful substances.
-
Always obtaining parent/guardian consent before taking or sharing any photos, videos, or livestream content involving children.
